Tejas District Website Is Being Revived For 2010

The District Committee understands the value of an up-to-date and accurate website and recognizes that the current obsolete information is of no value. It is acknowledged that unless the district's Scouters can count on accurate information, the website is essentially useless. If a Scouter finds any information to be inaccurate, then all other information (correct or not) is suspect, and thus defeats the value of this wonderful resource.

Therefore, an serious effort has been undertaken to revitalize the District webiste. Randy Smith has been assigned as the new webmaster and he will be assisted by Lynn Trego. Randy and Lynn will work with past webmasters Douglas Bergere and technical advisors Jason Bell and Mike Wagoner to begin the transition. We will keep the current URL: www.tejasdistrict.org.

One of the first tasks was to remove all known inaccurate and outdated material, and we think that has been accomplished. However, all website visitors are encouraged to help us identify old content and more importantly to help us by providing the current data. All units should review their posted data (leaders, meeting days/times, website URL) and let us know of any changes. Each district sub-committee will be tasked to review and provide accurate data for their activities. The current District Committee is listed under the "District Committee" link and those individuals are your best source for information until the website is fully populated. The Roundtable mail server lists also being revived so you can receive important e-mail notices of activities that are of particular interest to you. We are also adding Unit Commissioner data to each units' individual page. Once we have made a decision on the technical issues, we will be conducting website training at Cub Scout and Boy Scout Roundtables.
