Tejas District - Longhorn Council

After call to order and opening remarks, agenda began with Unit Services by District Commissioner, Chris Jenkins. He focused on getting silent auction items for Unit Services Silent Auction at District Dinner, March 23.

Committee Reports followed:
FOS UPDATE by Justin Wilburn. HE ASKED FOR DATES FOR COURTS OF HONOR & BLUE & GOLD that are scheduled. He also asked if we had volunteers for doing FOS PRESENTATION. You are to contact Justin if you have not already done so.
Membership report deferred.

Webmaster Randy Smith discussed the new content and format of the Tejas website (www.tejasdistrict.org). He asked for District Committee members' help in gathering useful and current information. He also mentioned that units each have an individual unit page on the website to give their unit information (meeting dates/times, location; leadership; with a link to the unit's website, if they have one).

Mark Kanady announced CAMPOREE is April 9 - 11. He wants the CAMPOREE to focus more on scout skills training than it has in years past.

Barbara Botteger stressed DAYCAMP TRAINING - Jan. 23 at the Council office.

Barbara also asked for help in making special neckerchief slides for new Eagle Scouts which will be presented, along with the distinct Tejas Eagle neckerchiefs, at the District Dinner.
